My Favorite Food Mixer

Over the years I have come to realize that buying the cheaper, or as the marketing people put it "less expensive"  type of food mixers, I decided to stop buying on price and start choosing consumer goods based on quality and value.

"Value" may mean different  things to different people but for me it means paying a fair price for a quality product that will last. You might ask why wouldn't I just buy on quality alone? The answer is in the car the Rolls Royce. The Roller is probably one of the highest quality built automobiles in the world but it is not what I would consider great value due to the extremly high price tag.

Fortunately it's not the same with a lot of consumer goods. Take my  Kitchenaid Mixer for example.  Although far from what you would call cheap, it should definitely be considered great value.  Before deciding which mixer I would buy, I made a list of my 'wants' and 'do not wants' from a Food Mixer and I began to read reviews and do some research. My old Hand Mixer was just tiring to use and underpowered so when I went shopping for a new mixer I knew I wanted a Stand Mixer. That's one where I wouldn't have to hold the mixer in the bowl. I needed a folding or very slow speed so I could blend in ingredients without them flying all over the kitchen.  I also wanted a mixer with enough power that I could do 4 boxes of brownies without it slowing down.  I even would like it to be able to knead bread and pasta dough.

Although there are many styles and models, I decided on an Artisan Series Kitchenaid Stand Mixer in a color that would match my kitchen (red -  my favorite!). It met my needs as to quality and even had a Dough Hook. They wouldn't include a dough hook if the machine didn't have enough  power to knead dough, right? I shopped around online to find the best deal, the price varies dramatically and it is well worth taking the time to shop around online.

I did my shopping online and checked out several of the most popular kitchen appliance outlet stores. I picked up the mixer I wanted and it included several handy accessories and best of all it was priced at below the lowest price I could get it locally even including the shipping costs!

I received my stand mixer in perfect condition at a price 1/3  less than what I could have bought it for anywhere in my local town or area. It has speeds from a slow stir to a fast mix. My new Artisan Series KitchenAid Mixer is a joy to own and does everything...including mixing the bread dough.
