Blender (program) help? How to render a model, then rig and animate it?
Please don't give me a link to some tutorial that's an hour long and I have to watch all the way through it just to find one little thing. You know what, I'm not very eloquent when typing, so I'll just tell you that I want to do everything that they did in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xWvCPu992s
I am working in blender 2.49 beta.
I'm sorry to have to tell you this but you're probably gonna need to watch and read several hours of tutorials before you are able to skin rig and animate a model in blender like this. Rigging and animating are a skill in themselves and I would run out of characters on answers before I even got started explaining the basics, I've been using Blender for several years and I can't yet rig a model as well as he did.
Blender takes time and patience, if you really want to do a scene like this then you're gonna have to bite the bullet and do some tutorials. The best place to start might be the "My first animation in 30+30 mins" on the Blender wiki. It's worth it, you learn all sorts of new skills by following other peoples tutorials.
To achieve what he did in that video you need to know:
Character Modelling
UV unwrapping
UV texturing
Advanced rigging
Realistic animation skills
It's quite a steep learning curve.
